Improving Warehouse Safety - How to Get the Safest Forklifts

Improving Warehouse Safety- How to Get the Safest Forklifts

If you work or have ever worked in a large warehouse then you understand that the highest proportions of warehouses are usually caused either directly or indirectly by forklifts. Unfortunately it would be impossible to decide to simply do away with the forklifts and thereby eliminate the possibility of accidents since they are an integral part of the operations of any warehouse that is significantly large. So how can you improve warehouse safety in a place that has several forklifts operating at the same time and where there are blind spots that prevent people from seeing any forklifts approaching from the opposite side? The solution is to use a forklift arc light.

Unlike the more traditional strobe lights that were commonly used in the past, an arc safety light allows people in the house to know about approaching forklifts much sooner and gives them enough time to get out of the way before an accident occurs. Strobe lights used to be minimally effective as warning signs but the problem with them is that since they were mounted on top of the forklifts, people would see them at the same time as the forklift. There is very little sense in trying to warn people about the approach of something that they can clearly see already. In addition most warehouse workers often complained that they were a distraction and diverted attention which increased the chances of an accident taking place. Arc safety lights, on the other hand, are usually projected on the floor of the warehouse a good distance ahead of the forklifts which means that workers in the warehouse are able to see them long before they see the actual forklifts. Plus it has been found that people are able to see things on the ground faster than they can see things in the air which makes them very effective warning signs.
