Strobe Lights versus Blue LED Safety Spotlights for Forklifts

Strobe Lights versus Blue LED |
For a long time in the past, workers in
large warehouses were accustomed to blinking red strobe lights that were
attached to the top of forklifts. These strobe lights were meant to serve as
warning signs that let the people in the warehouse know that a forklift was
approaching and that they should get out of the way especially when the
forklifts were approaching from corners around which they were not easily
visible. But the picture inside the modern warehouses has been changing
drastically over the past few years thanks to the introduction of new forklift
blue light safety. Instead of being mounted at the tops of forklifts, the blue
LED safety lights project on the floor some distance ahead of the forklifts and
are meant to serve the same purpose as the strobe lights and warn workers of
approaching forklifts. So how do the two types of safety lights compare and why
should you opt for the latter over the former?
One of the biggest problems with the top
mounted strobe lights is that they are redundant when it comes to warning
people around corners and blind spots of approaching forklifts. This is because
by the time they are able to see the lights and know that a forklift is
approaching, they are already able to see the forklift itself which means that
the lights do not serve any essential purpose. Add to that the fact that
flashing red lights are distracting and it is easy to see why the LED blue safety lights are
becoming more attractive. They serve as effective red zone forklift lights
around bends, corners and blind spots since workers in the warehouse are able
to see them before they can actually see the approaching forklifts and are
therefore able to get out of the way before it gets too late.
